Can you introduce Sanya as a touristic destination?
Located on Hainan island, Sanya is a unique destination by itself, popular for leisure as well as corporate meetings.
Situated at the extreme South of China, Hainan island is on the same latitude as Hawaii and benefits from a tropical weather all along the year. Sanya Bay, where is located Pullman Oceanview, is a 25 kilometers long straight beach, which is probably the longest beach of Asia.
Actually Sanya is not just a destination to laze around on sandy beaches, but is also great for sightseeing.
Within half an hour from Sanya, you can go for a trek in a real tropical forest, discover hot springs or even have a trip to a traditional fishermen islands.
If you are looking for more cultural activities, you may also visit the Nanshan Buddhism Cultural centre, built in 1998 to celebrate the 2000th anniversary of Buddhism and famous for its 108 meters high Goddess of Mercy statue overlooking the sea.
Can you introduce Pullman Oceanview Sanya Bay as a meeting destination?
Pullman Oceanview Sanya Bay opened almost one year ago, the hotel is situated on Sanya Bay right in front of a 300 meters long private beach.
In terms of MICE, we have already hosted 150 different events since the hotel opening last year. Our hotel boasts one of the largest pillarless ballrooms available in Sanya. With more than 1000 sqm we can cater functions for 600 people groups. We also have 8 breakout rooms as well as a spacious garden and beach for outdoor events and activities. Totally our hotel counts 413 rooms and villas that can easily accommodate groups of 300 people. The hotel also has 56 apartments of 1/2/3 bedrooms with full kitchen to accommodate long staying guests, families or MICE participants.
Event organizers often look for creative team building activities for their guests and in order to save our customers substantial time and budget, we have specifically launched “ready to use” team building activities. We conveniently provide all the resources needed including coordinators, material and space.
As an example, we have a lot of success with our “bamboo raft building” activity, perfect for groups between 20 to 100 people. Groups are divided into teams of 10 people competing for manually building raft boats as quickly as possible. This is an amazing exercise for coordination and communication, and the most adventurous teams even try to ride their raft boats on the sea afterwards!
In terms of outdoor activities, with a spacious garden, a 300 meters wide private sandy beach and 4 outdoor swimming pools, options are countless. Our meetings guests can play volleyball, ride bikes on the beach, or even have group aerobic sessions in the pool.
In the meantime, guests can easily take a break and sneak out the hotel to enjoy numbers of leisure options available at close proximity. For example, you can easily take a boat and discover the traditional fishermen island situated just in front of the hotel beach or even enjoy a beachfront seafood dinner in one of the local restaurants nearby the hotel.
What are your favorite spots in Sanya?
I actually arrived only a few months ago, and I am still very new to Sanya.
I like to enjoy very simple things like the view from my office overlooking Sanya Bay as well as contemplating the sunset from the Red Sun Bar located on the 17th floor of the hotel.
When I have time I love going for a stroll nearby the hotel and seat at local beachfront seafood restaurants. Food is always very simple and you seat on plastic chairs, but you can feel the real local atmosphere while eating grilled shrimps and fish directly from the fisherman’s net.
Sanya Bay is not only a resort destination, you can connect with local population and culture, which I appreciate a lot. For example, every morning I head off to the beach for a jogging session before work and I often catch up with local people from the surroundings also enjoying fresh air, just like me. We usually greet each other and get to know each other better day after day which is very satisfying.
