The hotel property is an excellent example of Shanghai’s historical architecture. Previously the hotel was known as the site of the renowned former French Club. The French Club was built by French architector in 1926, located in Avenue Joffre which is now named Huai Hai Road. This unique Baroque-style building still stands proudly after experiencing nearly a century of history.
