Arrival by car

From Munich (Germany only): take the A8 motorway towards Salzburg taking the exit Piding/Bad Reichenhall/Berchtesgaden and follow the signs for 20km.

From Munich via Austria: take the A8 motorway towards Salzburg crossing the Germany-Austria border. Please be aware of the obligatory toll sticker which you can buy at a service station! Motorway junction Salzburg, keep right in the direction of A10/Tauern motorway Junction Salzburg South: Towards Berchtesgaden/Grödig Driving time from Munich: approx. 2 hrs.

From Vienna take the A1 Westautobahn Motorway junction Salzburg, keep right in the direction of A10/Tauern motorway Junction Salzburg South: Towards the federal highway of Berchtesgaden/B160 Driving time from Salzburg: approx. 30 minutes, from Vienna approx. 3 hrs Please be aware of the road toll in Austria.

Arrival by Train - Destination Station Berchtesgaden

Berchtesgaden main station can be reached via trains from Munich and Salzburg, changing trains in Freilassing. For detailed information, please visit the official homepage of the German railway Deutsche Bahn for further details.

After arriving at the train station in Berchtesgaden, a taxi will bring you to the hotel within ten minutes (a taxi drive costs approx. EUR 18). You can also take the bus (No. 838), which will bring you to the hotel within 15 minutes.

Arrival by plane and helicopter

You have a wide range of scheduled flights to choose from at Salzburg Airport or Munich International Airport. We are pleased to organize a shuttle service to pick you up on arrival. The hotel site also features a helicopter landing pad.

TRACKING DOWN NATURE
In 1978, with the opening of the first and only German alpine national park, the Berchtesgaden National Park, nature found a refuge. Today, Berchtesgaden National Park covers numerous areas regarding conversation, research, recreation and education. With its network of over 250km of trails and paths, the national park is the perfect area for hiking in Bavaria. The conservation area of over 21,000 hectare offers nature which has been untouched by mankind. Therefore, a unique flora and fauna have reclaimed their place amidst the Bavarian Alps.The alpine national park is part of the UNESCO biosphere region Berchtesgadener Land. Listen tothe birds, search for gentian and Edelweiss or marvelat the sight of marmots and golden eagles.

KOENIGSSEE
Like a fjord, the emerald green Königssee with its crystalclear water weaves through Germany’s only alpinenational park. During the cross-over to the region’slandmark, the famous trumpet echo of the baroquepilgrimage church, St. Bartholomä with itsred onion domes, can be heard.
