Surroundings
Quanzhou is located along the
coast of southeast Fujian Province. It is one of Fujian's three major cities
and the economic and political centre of the province.
Historically, Quanzhou was an
important port along the Maritime Silk Road, where it welcomed travellers from
many different cultures, including the explorer Marco Polo. It boasts a number
of popular historical sites, including Qingyuan Mountain, Kaiyuan Temple, Guandi Temple, Qingjing Temple and Quanzhou East Lake Park.
